Human Resources
The heart of any service organization is its people. At Aspen we realize that our associates are essential to our success and our biggest asset. But nowadays it’s a challenge to find people who have a passion to serve. However, our recruiting strategy is to be Employer of Choice in all the markets we are in. We want our associates to be proud of their work environment. We want them to have a desire to tell others about Aspen and what a great place it is to work.
How do we ensure we are the Employer of Choice?
RECRUITING During the Recruiting phase, we want to find the best candidates to join our company. During the hiring process we make sure all candidates fully understand the job description and responsibilities. We share information about our health, dental and vision benefits. We communicate our culture and service expectations so they understand that we create a work environment of accountability, recognition and fun. Once a candidate is selected before they are hired, they must pass a drug test and background check.
RETAINMENT Once a candidate joins the Aspen family, we train them for the job through a variety of methods. Our ASPEN ACADEMY is an on-going development plan for our associates to be productive, safe and efficient. We invest in continued development for each associate that allows them opportunities within the company for other positions. We expect our associates to challenge the status quo and suggest new and innovative ways to do business. In turn we recognize and reward our associates through incentives that show our appreciation for all their efforts.
We conduct Associate Surveys every other year to gather input on the company, management teams and our performance as a company. We foster an Open Door Policy that encourages associates to share their ideas and concerns privately to the Owner of the company or with their management teams. We create Xteams (crossfunctional) that have accountability and responsibility for Operations. While a General Manager has full responsibility of their operation, their management team includes additional operations personnel, finance manager, human resources and information technology support. This allows decision making to be more well rounded by having support and team members in areas that are specialized.
